Italiano Chronic telogen effluvium: Hair loss is usually a long-term problem
Hair loss is often a concern for those affected for months or even years. The success of treatment depends largely on the willingness to incorporate the care routine into daily life regularly and over an extended period of time. The issues of “tolerability and safety” are particularly important here—especially since pregnant women, breastfeeding women, and children are often affected as well.

How does chronic telogen effluvium develop, and how does it progress?
This refers to increased hair loss across the entire scalp. If hair loss persists over a prolonged period with an elevated proportion of telogen hairs, the condition is known as chronic telogen effluvium.
Common Causes and Risk Factors
There are various known causes for hair transitioning prematurely from the growth phase (anagen phase) to the shedding phase (telogen phase), such as:
• Feverish infections
• Protein, iron, or vitamin deficiencies
• Hormonal imbalances in women (pregnancy/childbirth, menopause)
• Stress, a hectic lifestyle, heavy workloads, and psychological pressure are further examples of common causes that are currently becoming increasingly significant.
Naturally, diffuse hair loss subsides once the underlying cause is addressed.
However, hair loss often persists even when the cause is known and treated.
Study Results
Amulticenter study¹ evaluated the efficacy and tolerability of Thymuskin (serum and shampoo) in 184 women and 57 men with chronic telogen effluvium (chronic TE) over a period of six months.
